This museum is simply a must for any family. This largest children’s museum in the world is often cited the “best children’s museum in the world”. We would agree. The museum was founded in 1925 and is continuing to grow yet today. It contains over 120,000 artifacts and has five levels of varying exhibits – much of it interactive. Over one million children and parents visit the museum each year to experience all the museum has to offer.

One of my children’s favorite exhibits was Dinosphere. This huge exhibit contains life-size dinosaurs, dino digs and plenty to learn about (you can even “smell” what a dinosaur dinner may have tasted like). We also enjoyed watching the paleontologists at work on real skeletons.

Along with the Dinosphere, the museum also offered special featured attractions of, Hot Wheels: Race to Win (now through July 30), Circus – Starring YOU! (now through Nov. 26). Permanent displays include American Pop, Beyond Spaceship Earth, the National Geographic’s Treasures of the Earth and All Aboard!. You also don’t want to miss artist Dale Cihuly’s incredible Fireworks of Glass (it’s truly an awesome work of art that contains 1,600 pieces of blown glass). You also will want to set aside time for Big, Bad and Bizarre, the infoZone and Take Me There: China and much more!

While it’s known as a children’s museum, adults will love this place too. It’s an amazing museum that educates and entertains children of all ages.

We are very excited about the newest edition to open in the spring of 2018. The Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience will be a 7.5 indoor and outdoor experience.

There is so much to see and do that parents may want to allow for two days to fully experience the exhibits. It’s quite the experience.
