Planning for a Cruise the Carnival Way

How we travel and planning for travel has changed. A lot. That doesn’t mean we have to give up on taking a great vacation though. It just means that we have to take more into consideration.

I don’t know about you, but I appreciate the ability to relax while on vacation. I don’t want to have to worry about where we are going for dinner, how much will it cost and on and on…. There’s a beauty to paying upfront and being done with that. Carnival has a great way to plan and pre-pay for your vacation.

Understanding the financial basics of cruising is important. Here are some things to keep in mind as you ponder setting sail:

  • Carnival recommends selecting your cruise at least five months in advance. This will give you plenty of time to plan for your trip.
  • Determine exactly what your budget is:
  • How much are you willing to spend (this should include port excursions, drink packages, etc.)
  • Remember that not everything is covered in the initial price. For example, gratuities, port taxes and fees are often not covered. Ask how much in addition you should budget for these when booking your trip.
  • Don’t forget to plan for the ports – you may find a t-shirt you just have to bring home.
  • Once you nail down your personal budget, choose Carnival EasyPay. This flexible option allows you to spread your payment over time. You’ll be on your way before you know it.
