A Country Christmas
Gaylord Opryland Resort

Gaylord Opryland Resort goes big for Christmas. Really Big. If you’re looking to celebrate the holidays, you can do it all here. This year marks the 36th annual A Country Christmas and it takes place from November 8 through January 1.

The only challenge with spending the holidays at the Gaylord Opryland may be deciding just how to do it all! This year, A Christmas Story comes to life in the form of ICE! More than 2 million pounds of ice blocks create the resort’s signature attraction—ICE!, presented by DEI. ICE! is hand-carved by 40 master artisans from Harbin, China, and includes favorites like The Old Man’s Major Award, Aunt Clara’s pink nightmare, the ultimate triple dog dare at the school’s flagpole and more.

Next on the list for families is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Enjoy all your favorite characters on stage at the Grand Ole Opry House stage this holiday season. To extend the fun, you’ll love the Reindeer Games™ Scavenger Hunt where you get to help return the misfit toys to their homes and even an interactive dining experience at Rudolph’s Holly Jolly Feast.

For true Nashville-style entertainment, make sure to enjoy Trace Adkins’s dinner show: The Gift of Christmas with Trace Adkins and Friends. Performances will be held at the Wildhorse Saloon where the platinum-selling hitmaker and a few of his closest friends will entertain fans with Christmas standards, Celtic classics and even a few of his favorite traditions. You’ll enjoy a delicious start to the evening with a holiday meal prepared by Gaylord Opryland’s award-winning culinary team.

There’s even more to enjoy at the new Pinetop area, with a 8,000-square-foot Ice Skating where guests take their own spin on the ice or watch big jumps, fast spins, awe-inspiring throws and lifts during Rockin’ Christmas on Ice skating champions show. The activities continue with a 15-foot-high, four-lane ice Tubing hill, hop aboard the Opryland Express kids’ train, take a turn on the Santa’s Spinners tea cup ride, or stop by the Gingerbread Decorating Corner nearby!

Festivities also include Carriage Rides and holiday cruise experiences on the General Jackson Showboat along with free activities including a Christmas-themed fountain show and the Outdoor Nativity with an audio rendition of the biblical story.

Families will also love that while it may be chilly outside, it’s always 84 degrees inside SoundWaves. SoundWaves is an upscale water attraction that offers five thrilling water slides, lazy and rapid rivers, an adults-only pool, as well as a family activity pool and a splash pad that little ones love.

To get the most out of your stay, consider a two- or three-night package including accommodations and the most popular holiday attractions plus options to include SoundWaves. For additional information and to book packages or tickets, visit or call 1-888-677-9872.
