LEGOLAND® Discovery Center
Easton Town Center
Columbus Ohio

For those familiar with Easton Town Center in Columbus you know it is a great place for shopping, dining, and so much more. Honestly, Easton Town Center is more of an experience than a shopping center. From hotels to movie theatres, they pretty much have it all.  Now, they have even more! LEGOLAND® Discovery Center has opened at Easton and I can personally say, it’s absolutely wonderful! It is, in fact, the first LEGOLAND® Discovery Center in Ohio.

Recently, we took our boys for a day of play. The Discovery Center is designed specifically for families with children aged 3-10 years of age and our boys loved it.

After a friendly greeting during check in, we were ushered into a “factory” tour – LEGO style of course. After a few minutes of interactive screen play, it was time to enter into Kingdom Quest. This was definitely a favorite for our family! This highly interactive ride pits you against nasty trolls and skeletons all in an effort to save the captured princess. My family enjoyed the fact that we were able to see who got the most points at the end.

Next, it was off to Miniland Ohio. This is an amazing area where you can see your favorite Columbus attractions come alive thanks to LEGO.  Over 1.5 million LEGO bricks have been used to create beloved landmarks of not only Columbus, but Cincinnati and Cleveland as well.  Visitors enjoy how the lighting changes from day to night and fireworks can be observed on the walls. It truly is a remarkable and extremely detailed area.

After checking out other’s creations, the boys appreciated their time in LEGO Friends and the Clock Tower Play area. They were able to free-style some of their own creations. Little ones are able to try out their own skills in the LEGO Duplo Farm.

We also got in on a little building in the creative workshop. A friendly instructor guided us on building a LEGO creation. Right around the corner, they could check out the skills of master builders in the Master Model Builder window workshop.

From there, it was off to build and test our own skills with building race cars (and of course, racing them on the nearby track), Merlin’s Apprentice ride and the LEGO City Play Area.

Rounding off the day was our visit to the 4D Cinema. Special effects like wind, rain and snow made it extra fun! Families will also appreciate the LEGO Café and the store.

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center is all about kids. In fact, adults (18+) must be accompanied by a child aged 17 and under to gain admission. But adult fans, don’t worry – special adult nights are offered as well.
