GREAT WOLF LODGE
Mason, Ohio

Before we know it, spring break will be here! And, I have the perfect spot for you and your family to head to.

Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio is perfect for families with all ages. There is enough to do to keep the youngest in your group happy and your older ones will enjoy the thrilling water rides.

The lodge itself rustically decorated both inside and out. It has four stories with a lobby complete with antler chandeliers, a huge stone fireplace and cozy furniture. There are 401 all-suite, non-smoking guestrooms. We opted for kid-cabin suite. Our boys really enjoyed having their own space and television. There’s a variety of room choices, sizes and budgets to choose from. Most of the rooms have either a deck or balcony to enjoy a breath of fresh air.

Instead of having to carry a room card key around the resort (and trying to figure out what to do with it while in the waterpark), your room key is built into your wristband. For the entire time at the resort, your wristband allows you to not only get into your room but to make any charges. I can’t tell you how helpful this was to our family.

Regardless of the weather outside, the indoor waterpark is perfect. Which makes it the ideal for a spring break getaway. You don’t have to worry about the weather! Staying at an indoor waterpark is great even if you have younger ones in your crew – they can simply take a nap in the afternoon and you can head back for more fun later in the day.

Keep busy with waterslides, a wave pool, a lazy river, whirlpools, bowl rides and more all in a perfect 84-degree temperature setting. Lines moved rather quickly and the pools were not overly crowded which made it very easy to enjoy the time.

Along with the waterpark, Great Wolf offers a variety of activities to enjoy. To make it easy for you and to prepare your budget ahead of time – they offer paw passes. Our $89 paw pass was a great deal. The paw pass really took our time from great to fabulous. You can budget ahead of time (and these passes offer a discount as opposed to purchasing each activity separately) and simply enjoy the activities instead of fretting over costs.

Our Wolf Pass included:

• MagiQuest Game or one ShadowQuest game
• One Compass Quest Game (compass included)
• Choice of one MagiQuest classic wand, color wand, standard topper or Magi belt
• One Great Wolf Kids Character at Creation Station with Clubhouse Crew Adventure Game (outfit not included)
• One round of Howl at The Moon Glow Golf
• One game at Ten Paw Alley
• 20 Paw Point at The Northern Lights Arcade
• One serving of select bulk candy
• One pair of select Great Wolf Lodge swim goggles
• One Glitz Glitter Tattoo
• One souvenir Leather Treaty name Bracelet from Buckhorn Exchange Gift Shop
• One since scoop ice cream from Bear Paw Sweets & Eats

There is also a smaller and a larger package available. I really loved how this made the activities feel all-inclusive and they were fun for our entire family.

MagiQuest is a game that utilizes a “magic wand” by which children discover enchanted objects, battle a goblin, go one-on-one with a dragon and more. The Northern Lights Arcade is a family-friendly arcade filled with over one hundred games. And, the Ten Paw Alley will keep your family busy with a family friendly bowling alley. Roll 5 pound balls down the mini lanes and hit real pins. The 9-hole mini-golf is a fun glow-in-the-dark adventure.

The Animated Clock Tower in the lobby puts on three shows a day. Our favorite was the evening show that included a story time and a visit by the wolf mascot – “Wiley the Wolf”. It was a great way to wind up the day.

Great Wolf Lodge features both a fitness center and a spa. You’ll appreciate time spent in Elements – an Aveda Concept Spa. You’ll return to your room refreshed and energized. Enjoy facials, massages, manicures and pedicures. Scooops is a special spa area just for kids. Think chocolate, vanilla and strawberry mani and pedis combined with pink robes and tiaras.

Your family is definitely bound to get hungry having this much fun. The Loose Moose Cottage now offers specialty grilled burgers. My boys loved it! The Bear Paw Café is next to the waterpark and offers decadent treats and ala carte items. If you’re in need of caffeine, you’ll appreciate the Starbucks Café in the gift shop. One of my children’s favorite lunch spots was the snack bar inside the waterpark – they serve generous sized cheeseburgers meals.
